Tech Support: I block them, but they’re still there!

I had a friend, and I got mad so I blocked him. But it doesn’t show that he’s blocked. It’s broken!!

Well, yes and no. The functionality works. When you block a user they are unable to send you any messages or requests. However, without actually removing them from your friend list all you’ve done is told the system you do not want to talk to that person. And at this time, a notification is not sent to you or to them confirming this action, even though it is in place.
