I Haz a Murloc!!

It’s true! I do haz a Murloc!
No… I don’t play World of Warcraft, and I haven’t learned how to train a wild Murloc for my very own. But I do have a plushie that makes a sound when you squeeze his bottom lip. And I love it! Yet, what is the draw? As a non-WoW player, I should not be interested in the Murloc, nor even remotely adoring of this bug-eyed little creature… however, I am inexplicably pleased every time I look at him. |
Okay, so according to the WoWWiki, a Murloc is:
“The murloc is a bipedal, amphibious, ichthyoid (fish-like) humanoid race residing along coastlines, lakeshores, and riverbeds. Murlocs possess bulbous bodies, large mouths lined with rows of sharp fangs, and slime-coated skin. Individuals range in coloration from turquoise to darkish grey; their heights vary from 3-1/2 feet to 6 feet.”
Even from the description it’s a disgusting little creature! So where is the draw? Why is everyone so enamored with the little guy? Is it the sound they make? *Hears their mrlrlrlrlr sound in her head* Or maybe just that they are under-appreciated in the world of MMO creatures?
I am afraid I don’t know just what makes the Murloc so special. What I do know, however, is that my Murloc is sitting on my desk, in his box, and is quite entertaining to the whole office – but especially me. I’ll love him and hold him and squeeze him and pet him and play with him forever and ever.
I haz a Murloc. What about you?
