Howdy,

Myself like many others prefer to assign a mouse button when using voice chat. See we have all these buttons on mice   now and really don't need one for “Search” or “back” and “forward” in games.

So I'd like to assign a button on my mouse for the 'Press to Talk' key to be a mouse button click. I tried to assign it in the app but that didn't seem to work, I was using something like button 5 or 6 on my MX revolution mouse.

If this is possable already just let me know how and I'll shut up.

Wink

Actually, this is possible now.  Just click on the button you want it set to.

If it doesn't stick and you find you're continually resetting it, or if you're using one of the multi-button gaming mouses that has like 47 buttons on it and the one you want for your pinky finger to push isn't begin accepted, let us know what model of mouse you've got and we'll go from there.

Thanks!

I have tried both of my Logitech MX revolution mice. I click reset – then click the button to use – either one above the right thumb – and nothing. This happens on both XP pro and Vista x64.

Okay, that's one of those 43 different buttons mouses things.  I actually adore mine, but we failed in taking them into consideration (they're not that common in the grand scheme of things… go figure).

Anyway, I'll note it for the design team for a future capability.

Thanks!

most people just use the middle mouse button (clickable scroller wheel) when using voice programs such as ventrilo or teamspeak when gaming, lots of people do have the mouses with side click buttons these days

i dont have one of those type of mouse right now but im sure i will when i get round to it

I don't know that I'd say “most people” use that middle button. Personally I've always found that particular button very unwieldly to click so I just never use it for anything whatsoever.

Back to the topic, add another vote for this. I have the Microsoft ergonomic wireless mouse and Voon doesn't recognize the mouse buttons on that one either. I haven't tried Voon in-game yet but I'm wondering if it's even able to pick up the PTT key or not while in-game? Using a normal keypress so far also activates the chat window.

cant really do much else but wait for the multi click mouse type to be supported

Thanks for the feedback, Talyn.  I don't use the mouse buttons either, although I recognize that many do.

Can you give me the details on your mouse?  Make/model, etc?

Mine is the Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000, about a year old-ish I think.

I normally use one of the two side-buttons for PTT on Ventrilo, etc. rather than the (for me) clumsy scroll-wheel button.
